First non-5 star Speed Champions set I've rated
I have 79 cars from the Speed Champions sets... Not all of them, but only a few off, so that I have a LOT of experience building these. overall I like the build, with 2 exceptions:1) there is a small section of pieces that sit into two door like pieces, and then have those door pieces close to hold the other thing in place. The section isn't attached to anything, which is weird as everything else attaches to something. If you're curious which section I'm talking about, there's a section behind the seat that has the flat black piece at the very top of the model. You can see what I'm referring to in the pictures in the listing.2) Lego has been fantastic for ages now having the bags numbered and grouped in a way that is logical as you build. I don't know yet if this is just this particular set or all of the F1 sets in general, but it almost feels like they planned how to put the parts into the bags, THEN made the instructions. You'd think you start with bag 1, right? No, it's bag 2, but only the body of the driver, then you gotta to go bag 1 to get his head and helmet. There were only about 10 parts in bag 1, so it makes no sense why they didn't just have bag 1 and bag 2 combined, since you have to open both of them at the same time. When you get near the end, you have to open bag 6 before you open bag 5, but you don't assemble ALL of bag 6, just a small number of pieces, then flip over to bag 5, and then back to bag 6.I mean, overall, it's a fun build. I normally get all of the Speed Champion sets when they come out, but with these F1 cars, I'm only going to be getting this one and the Oracle cars, as I don't need 10 of the same car (and a couple duplicates from dual car sets from the last couple years).
