Fallout: New Vegas - Xbox 360 Collector's Edition

I noticed that a lot of people on here were writing reviews for this product but bought it at places other than Amazon, so I thought I'd write a review based on my experience. I have never pre-ordered a game through Amazon before and didn't really know what to expect. Anyone that remembers the debacle of a couple years ago with the Fallout 3 Amazon Survival Edition will know what I'm talking about. It seems as though Amazon has learned from that mistake, as I am very pleased with my experience thus far.I received the game on the same day it was released, via delivery to my door courtesy of FedEx. When I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised that the comic book was hardcover, the poker chips had the weight and feel of real poker chips, and the deck of cards were just as described. Based on the extras included in the Limited Edition, I don't feel ripped off at all - far from it. The game itself has a very familiar feel if you've played Fallout 3, but there are enough new things to make it exciting and a new world unto itself. Thankfully, the controls are largely unchanged - meaning veterans can get to killing and maiming raiders in no time. The storyline itself is refreshing, and the graphics are improved over Fallout 3.The Amazon Tribal Pack was a nice added bonus, especially to use at the beginning of the game when good armor and weapons are scarce. My guess is that all of the bonus armor/weapon/item packs that were made available to customers that pre-ordered will eventually be available for purchase through Xbox Live. I'm still waiting on the discount on my next video game order that Amazon promised, but they have a few more days to get that to me.All in all, I'm very satisfied with this order.

For those of you who loved Fallout 3, you will ABSOLUTELY love Fallout New Vegas!!! I personally spent an endless number of hours scaveging the wasteland in Fallout 3 and after playing my first 10 hours in New Vegas, I can tell I will be spending even more time!!!All the things that made the Fallout series a success are still included in this game, PLUS some additional mindblowing improvements that include MODIFICATIONS to your weapons!!! Yes, finally you can create ammunition and weapons that are personalized for your killing sprees!! The graphics are AMAZING and the animation is awesome!!! The voice-overs are first class... and thus far, I can tell the story is going to deep and mysterious.... and now, a HARDCORE level of playability that will uncover special achievements!!!!!!Basically, who shot you, left you for dead in the desert, and why??? And on the way to discovering the this mystery, you are flat stuck in a middle of a war between the NCR (New California Revolutionaries) and the Legion (Enslavers - really bad dudes that need to go).If you love RPGs, think no further... BUY THIS GAME!!!! The Collectors Edition is well worth the additional money. The Dark Horse Hardcover comic is a true limited edition collectable and was written exclusively for this release. The #38 coin is a large and HEAVY piece of metal... it rocks! The poker chips are a classic piece of iconic history for Fallout buffs and of course, the playing Cards.What stays in New Vegas needs to come home to you if you want endless hours of entertainment, a great story line, and a game that will increasingly challenge your skill as a gamer!Put simply, BUY THIS GAME... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!

OK so a few glitches on day one ..... NOT like any of us weren't expecting it :-)It's effing HUGE and way too much funIt has a LOT of good humor that maybe some of the OLD people that used to walk thru through blizzards to their Xbox can appreciate but makes the experience for me a little less like Fallout 3 .... You KNOW winner of every GoY award.BTW: That IS a bad thing you old creaky oldtimersSadly most will not mark it as high as me and the reviews have been less than stellar. I am so sad to say this excellent game will not win game of the year.UPDATE: Sadly I will NOT vaguely mark it this as highly as me. Hence my down-grade to a 1 star rating which is kind at this point and based solely on the excellent EXTRA content in the CE. The game itself gets a -5My initial review was over-exuberant, 10 hours in and I had not even experienced as many bugs as FO3 in comparable gameplay time.Fast forward. This game is a VERY defective product. It is unplayable on many Xboxes and in reality ALL 3 platforms, due the DLC/Save corruption issue. It's been a month and 1/2 and it STILL hasn't been fixed. Hundreds of thousands of paying customers can't continue important companion quests or can't finsh MAIN quests, or get the black screen of death because ALL THEIR SAVES ARE CORRUPTED!!!!This is without a doubt THE most broken and NOT ready for prime-time game I've evet played.
