Layrite Cement Clay

I have fine, thin hair and nothing would give me a nice style or thicken my hair. I tried expensive and cheap brands, all failed. I tried Layrite on a whim, for the price I could just throw it and move on to the next product. Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for. It is a thick putty and you use it like it states on the label. I started with wet, freshly washed hair and just rubbed a small amount between my hands and worked it in. Then, I blew dry it and it was much thicker hair. While it was still a bit damp I put some rollers in until dry. Took out rollers and voila, my hair held up, was thicker, and the style didn't collapse. I then used another small amount to work thru my dry hair and finished the style. Thickness held up for a couple of days until next time I washed my hair. Very pleased with this product. Should be NUMBER 1 on their rankings!

I have relatively fine, medium length hair that lies completely fluffy and straight with no product. This is the first product that I have used that can easily hold my hair up and back all day and can still handle me running my fingers through my hair every once in a while.It does give have a bit of a gel feel and is tacky all day long, but doesn't leave a sticky residue on my hands like a gel and looks much more natural. Also doesn't really get greasy compared to some of the Crew products I have tried in the past.I still need to get the right amount down to a science, but I do have to use a bit more of it than I am used to with other products. I was super hesitant at first because of how greasy some other products get, but it really hasn't been an issue.The only con I can give this is personal preference... the sweet vanilla smell doesn't do it for me. It isn't awful, but I prefer a more odorless or neutral scent and this is really NOT that. Regardless, this will be my go to until I find something better.

I've been using two expensive brands for some years now as every time I try something less expensive it turns out to be a dud. This product, however, really hits the mark: Works well without being goopy or leaving a nasty residue, has a nice scent that reminds me of a pastry shop (vanilla maybe?), and a good price point. It holds my corn-silk fine hair all day, is easy to restyle with my fingers after a ride in the car with the windows down, and doesn't look like I have product in my hair. A little bit is all I need to add the body to my hair that I've never had and always wanted.

This is a great product that will hold your hair all day. I personally found it a little too strong and my hair felt like cement so I actually opted for natural mat cream instead.

I have used this product for over a year now and it has been the best hair product I have used so far. The one I used for a while before this was American Crew Fiber, which had too weak of a hold.My Hair Type: I am a guy with thick black hair and I blow dry it up before applying this product.Hold: Really strong even in really windy conditions but can also be slightly restyled and played around with if you want to.Finish: Slightly shiny but if you put less you can get a nice matte finish.Wash: Easily washes out of hair with soap and water. From my hands after I apply it, it takes a lot of soap to get it to wash off.Smell: I personally don't mind the smell of it and I don't think it's strong enough for other people to smell it anyway.Use: I take a penny size, spread it throughout my hands and apply it evenly throughout my hair. I go for a second round of a bit more if needed.

This is a great clay with a good amount of hold and shine. It smells good, however it is difficult to get it into the hair, is very sticky, and is not worth the price. Personally I would opt for a cheaper option.
